Lupin Beans are yellow legume seeds of the lupin plant, most commonly Yellow Lupin, and were once a common food of the Mediterranean basin and Latin America. Today in Spain they are sold in a salty solution in jars (like olives and pickles) or bags and can be eaten with or without the skin. They are popular as a bar snack with a cold beer and are very moreish!
Lupin beans are also popular amongst vegetarians and vegans as they contain the full range of amino acids.
Once opened keep refrigerated in their brine. |
