The most famous Spanish blue cheese from Valdeon in the Picos de Europa. A strong aroma and potent flavour make this one of the world's classic blue cheeses. It is recommended for salads, sauces, or just spreading on bread. Try with caramelised fig and quince preserve or a slice of membrillo. In recognition of the superb quality of this cheese, the judges at the Nantwich International Cheese Awards 2011 gave the Valdeon a Gold award and named it Best Spanish Cheese.
